Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Ph.D. Admissions 2013 Basic Sciences under the aegis of HBNI
BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) offers a Ph.D. programme in Basic Sciences under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute(HBNI), a Deemed University. The Ph.D. programme at BARC consists of one year of course work and research work leading to a doctoral degree. A minimum performance in the prescribed course work, corresponding to cumulative marks of 60% and not less than 50% marks in any individual subject is one of the prerequisites for award of a Ph.D. degree.
Eligibility
Those having M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Biology or related science subjects with minimum 60% marks in M.Sc. as well as in B.Sc. are eligible to apply.
Selection Process:
Selection for the Ph.D. programme is a two-step process.
Screening for Physical and Chemical Sciences shall be on the basis of the rank obtained/marks scored in the UGC-CSIR-JRF NET. Screening for Life Sciences shall be on the basis of the rank obtained/marks scored in the UGC-CSIR-JRF NET or similar NET conducted by the DBT, ICAR or ICMR. Additional criteria based on previous academic performance in the M.Sc. and/or B.Sc. examinations may be used for screening.
Short-listed candidates shall be called for interview to be conducted in second half of August, 2013 at the BARC Training School, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400094.
